My name is Mukaila Ayoade a Nigerian artist living in Chicago, United States of America. I started art in a private studio with other artists before I moved to Yaba College of Technology in Nigeria to study art where I obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in general art and Higher National Diploma in painting. I graduated in 1999 and I have been a professional artist since then. I attended different workshops in art one of which was floating calabash at Goeth institute in Nigeria in the year 1998 also harmattan workshop organized by Ovumaroro gallery in Delta state Nigeria in the year 2000 I had about two Solo art exhibitions in Nigeria and many group shows before I moved here in 2009 I had two solo art exhibitions here in the United States and several group shows. The latest is the one I had recently at Bridgeport art studio on 35 and Racine throughout the month of October I participated in several groups shows here in the United State of America through Amdur production. I was also in New York for another group show organized by Clio art show and several other states in the United State here. I have my works in the private and public collections both in the United State of America and another part of the world I work with several media such as acrylics watercolor charcoal pastel, discarded materials, and alcohol ink on Yupo paper. I have been able to work with wasted materials such as feathers, newspaper cigarette buts, and leaves My art philosophy is always ’from mind to canvas’. I’m like kite in the wind when I’m in front of the canvas.
